I would like to highlight some: - Innovation Management as a discipline is rapidly taking a priority position in the strategy of prominent CEO’s, also in South Africa.
- Industrial Engineering remains a cornerstone enabler in engineering innovation opportunities. This holds for all industries alike.
- Innovation requires money that originates largely from profits of existing business operations. Thus a core challenge to every CEO is balancing resources assigned to make money (operate) with resources assigned for renewing the business of tomorrow, next year and five years from now.
| Indutech Ventures into China by Bernard Katz | | | For a week in early December, Indutech conducted our first project in China. The project was in partnership with BMGI and involved personnel from both their US and Chinese offices. The client is a leading global compressor manufacturer who is looking to drive future growth through innovation. In this first interaction we conducted our innovation capability assessment involving 75 of their senior personnel. This was followed by in-depth discussions with a number of their senior management. Feedback of our initial findings were presented on Friday the 10th of December and a final report for this phase of the project will be completed shortly. | Improving Infrastructure Delivery in SA by Louis Louw | | | One of the key focus areas of the South African government for job creation is increased infrastructure spending. Enormous resources are being harnessed to accelerate the delivery of infrastructure as part of improving service delivery. Our Government has also recognised the link between the investment in infrastructure and lifting our global competitiveness and is thus proactively using the investment to create sustainable jobs and raise skills levels. As a result, the need has never been greater for our public and private sectors to ensure that delivery is as efficient and effective as possible to ensure that these resources are maximised. | Who We Are and What We Do by Bernard Katz | | | Many of you who receive this newsletter have had a long relationship with Indutech. Some as clients, some as alliance partners, some as suppliers and some just friends of the company. Although you have had many interactions with Indutech and our people over the years we thought it would be an appropriate time to remind everyone just who we are and what we do. | PERSONNEL | | New Employees We are very happy to welcome the following new employees to Indutech: (from left to right) Cariema Bosch is our new secretary, Kevin Thiart joined the Software Factory, and Dennis Kuesters from Germany who is doing his internship at Indutech. | | | The Indutech Family is Growing!
